Old Enough

when

I saw a poster that asked a question
Is “old enough to know better” a time
It made me wonder if that age exists
Or is it just another reason to rhyme.

Looking back we can all see mistakes
Like holding on to some idea no matter
Others may question why we hang on
Instead of giving a chance to another.

Who is to know why we can’t let go
Is it emotion, a feeling or just a dream
When it isn’t shared by anyone else
Is it any less real than it might seem.

So are what age are we old enough
To realize what is best and to move on
For each it becomes a personal choice
To reach, until we realize that it is gone.

I really like how this poem makes you think and ponder the question!
