Frozen in Time

Time seems to pass in irregular patterns

How the mind obscures our perception

Sometimes as quickly as sliding on ice

Often it passes without any inclination.

We lose track of time, as if a moment has passed

Looking around with eyes glazed over in mist

Only to find friends, family and aspirations gone

Unaware that except by grace do we even exist

The conditions we live in these passing months

Turn our normal to something we can’t compare

Who would have thought we’d miss so much

That all we cherished might just disappear.

To isolate and follow direction to try to stay safe

Locked up like someone that committed a crime

Is this really life we thought we would be living

Or are we just existing, as if frozen in time.
