One Day at a Time

The calendar shows another year has come around
Who knows what this one will bring with its passing
We remember the days that have come and gone
A few left us crying, hopefully more were laughing.

As we grow older and hopefully a little more wise
Memories of those whose path we have crossed
Some stayed close and remain part of our journey
Others sadly have stepped away and are now lost.

We grow and we change as we go through this life
Maybe it is just as well we don’t see too far ahead
For I’m sure there will be steps that would scare us
Maybe encounters we’d rather have missed instead.

So each day presents us with new challenges to face
Easy to imagine what might be with thoughts sublime
Enjoy friends and family and let life come as it may
Don’t stress over the future, step by step, a day at a time.

A very beautiful poem Charles…. although I don’t agree with what you said about friends who step away because some people would love to stay… but you step away
