Resignation

There are times when words just don’t make sense
They can’t bring back any thought or a sensation
After sitting and trying to ponder what is wrong
The choice that makes most sense is a resignation.

Resigned to stop a hand reaching for a telephone
After all, what words would be the best to share
Much has transpired through the course of years
Time and the path shared have shown that you care.

So many people come into our lives and bring us joy
We never know what each chance meeting might bring
Many seem to be just passing by then they are gone
A few touch our heart, making it reach out and sing.

Not many times in our life do we find a special soul
Fewer still do we chance keeping them from passing on
When two hearts start to share things, becoming one
A third heart can distract and cause one to be gone.

Beautiful poem my friend and oh so true; wish we could turn back time sometimes; lol hugs and smiles Phyllis

Those darned ‘third heart distractions’…I know them all too well. Still, it’s so lovely when one heart is focused solely on us…even if only for a short time. Warm hugs Charles.
