Gentle Rain

Soft rain falling on the roof last night
Gentle reminder of the cycle of life
Thoughts in motion like heavens gift
Washing away any sorrow or strife.

Like the grass now being nourished
Like the bird washing in the pool
Time to clear the mind and awaken
Start fresh, like a sparkling jewel.

It is too easy to remember the past
But at times we must forge ahead
Memories always serve a purpose
We try to make new ones instead.

As the rain cleanses in its gentleness
We must allow our own minds to heal
Whether looking back or to the future
Allow yourself the joys of life to feel.
