Listening to the rain on the windows
Thinking of the words that we shared
Cleansing like the glass being drenched
Memories of how much we both cared.

Lightning flashes across the dark clouds
Hail begins to fall making its awful sound
Like the beating heart freshly wounded
Arms open, no one to wrap them around.

Thunder booms giving rise to new feelings
Anxious thoughts like two lovers in bed
Moving, grasping, folding together as one
Heart pounding memories inside my head.

Winds swirl, moving the storm on past me
Storm sirens go silent, tension will now ease
No real damage is done with this life storm
Yet it leaves a heart still wishing to please.

About graypoet

Just one that at times puts the words to the page and lets them fall as they might.
