Blessed Be Your Day

A wee bit of the Irish you’ll need
As you wake to enjoy the dawn
For one and all shall be blessed
With the luck of the leprechaun.

Tis a day to remember our roots
For so many have roots to be seen
Family coming from the Emerald Isle
They proudly wear a bit a the green.

Whether history or a desire to laugh
We can all lift a glass, uttering a wish
Say a prayer while dancing a little jig
And a button worn: Kiss me, I’m Irish.

We’ve heard the limericks and quips
And all have a bit of wisdom to say
But I wish my friends to all be blessed
Safely enjoy life this St. Patrick’s Day.

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
