Honest Examination

Looking in a mirror, what do you see
Do you examine yourself, completely
We fix our hair or check our face
A quick look, everything is in place.

Looking at others, what do you see
Do you see the person they might be
Do you focus on weaknesses or flaws
When you should take time to pause.

A mirror gives more than a reflection
When we can make an honest examination
We must pay attention to what we see
Trying to be the best person we can be.

A mirror is reflection of the outside
Our heart gives an indication of inside
When we make that honest self-examination
We may be ready for another’s affection.

I see others’ positive sides. And always see my weaknesses.

I swear I heard music when I read this. It flows like a song. Nicely done!

  3. Great insight and wisdom. Looking beyond the exterior we see in the mirror can be difficult and sometimes very painful. But if we go day after after day and never see into our own lonely , perhaps traumatized eyes, then we do not really know ourselves.
Forgiveness and acceptance of ourselves as a person, is the first step to healing.
Nicely written, It hits home with things I am going through.
Always a pleasure to read and connect with your work.
