Wishes Change

I left letters for two special kids
Not knowing if they’d be read
But at the time it meant a lot
Thinking they’d feel what I said.

They were to be held for a time
But as always, times will change
So I asked they be thrown away
Thinking they just sound strange.

Funny how things once important
Can seem to not matter anymore
With time emotions can change
Leaving dreams fallen to the floor.

People often follow different paths
Who is to say it is right or it is wrong
All we can do is walk our own way
And stand tall, try to remain strong.

    Lovely, like always. 🙂

The sentiment you describe is so true. With the passing of time, anger abates and firm attachments abate.

Great post, as usual. Funny how we carry such strong feelings and emotions about something or someone in our heads and hearts, but once we commit those feelings to paper, they can seem so…insignificant and unimportant. Wonder why that is? Thanks for sharing, and for provoking some thought. 😀

Thank you as always for your kind words. I appreciate that my rambling invokes some thought and I hope they were ones to leave you with a smile. Our own heart can stir so much, even when we know it is only one-sided.
