Youthful Surprise

As the day gets closer can you see
Visualize the laughter and excitement
The sparkle in the eyes of the children
Offsetting the money on presents spent.

Of course we all spend too much on them
But the time and season give so much
We remember why we are here and hug
Cherishing each smile, each touch.

We try to give the values of family
That we can give not just receive
Make sure to give more than things
Give your time, help children believe.

Of course we hide our stress and pain
Children grow up too fast I realize
We have them for only so many years
Hand a present, cherish the surprise.
