Learn From A Tree

maple seasons

Take the lessons learned from a tree
Stand tall and proud for others to see
Bow to the wind and try not to break
Stress from life you will have to take.

Show the color of your beauty to all
Even if it seems to be fading in fall
Around you evidence of your life
Be proud, don’t yield to any strife.

You might look barren in the cold
But life inside you continue to hold
You realize that you’ll spring back
As new beauty from buds do crack.

At times you need deadwood to lose
Hopefully you won’t be left a bruise
May your seeds grow to proudly see
Becoming as you, beautiful as can be.
