Pleasures

We experience pleasures to remember
We draw on the memories and smile
Each of us has a special one to recall
So let your mind wander for a while.

The smell of a favorite meal at home
Fixed just the way you liked it to be
How it makes your mouth water yet
Sense the taste, let your mind see.

A special someone and that first kiss
That moment waiting was not a choice
Tender at first and building inside
Silent screaming, no words, no voice.

The feeling of skin so tender to touch
That skin seldom touched by the sun
Whether kissed or touched or tasted
Delicate pleasures with a special one.

The intimacy to be found with a lover
When each knows just how to please
Moving together as one and the same
Anticipating emotions with such ease.

The joy of walking while holding hands
Fingers linked as if shaped in a mold
So natural together, as meant to be
This is the hand you’re fated to hold.

The mind is a storehouse to cherish
Memories of pleasures, holding tight
We each have images, ones to forget
Don’t let go of those that feel so right.
