Would it take

image

What would it take
An electromagnetic pulse
Maybe a sudden shock
Given do it or else.

Push away from the desk
Hands go in your pocket
Turn off computer
Cord from the socket.

If you needed to be quiet
To keep from being tempted
Is it really necessary
To keep be protected.

There are some times
To save your loved
You become
Unplugged.

    Such truth in this..

  2. Kirsten says:

Quiet is a precious gem. I need to make an effort to enjoy it more often. Thank you for this reminder.

Nice, you have me all confused about the message, but that´s the great part of it. I can now think of a dozen meanings to this poem.

I admit, like many others, there are times when the words fall to the page with one thought yet when reading back I find that they could have several meanings

  4. because only in solitude can one think with a rational mind. because only when we disconnect, can we stop ourselves from drowning in that massive flood of posts/comments/photos, and spend some time for what really matters.

  5. Off to find my morning quiet before the flood of noise invades my day…

Certainly the image can evoke the kind of quiet that follows a nuclear detonation.
