Another Day

Thanks to Kellie for another Free Write Friday prompt, the picture. Please check her blog at:

Taking another moment to breathe
Splitting more wood for the fire
Both heat the house and cook over
No thought I might ever retire.

Corporate jobs seldom exist here
Rural life, a lot of give and take
But families are still very strong
Values are still what we can make.

You do whatever it takes to live
No time wasted sunup to sunset
Yet it is still forth everything
Even if you give more than get.

No more time to lose in thought
Still more wood to split and stack
Daylight will be gone once more
When the sun comes up, I’ll be back.

  1. Work can be like Groundhog day, just keep returning to the same stack. Lovely poem!

  2. LadyBlueRose's Thoughts Into Words says:

the simple life is hard work….
I like this as it is another work of realness you do so well…
    Take Care..You Matter…
