Have You

Have you sat next to a friend’s bed
Wishing you could take away the pain
Knowing the inevitable time was near
But reliving all the good times again.

Have you ever tried to comfort family
As they watch for hours and still wait
At times denying what is really happening
Trying to help them carry the weight.

Have you ever questioned and asked Why
When all know conditions get worse
Is it part of the grand scheme of things
Or just the result of that initial curse.

Have you imagined all the joy ahead
To be reunited with all those lost
Saving that hope deep within your heart
Vowing to have faith no matter the cost.

  1. Yes, I am afraid so. We have had the same experience with my mom. She crossed over to the other side in 2009.
