Remembering

graveyard

Tenderly I reach out
Feeling the sensations
Fingertips so alive
Remembering your face.

Anxiously I reach out
Coming slowly awake
Arms slowly searching
Remembering your place.

Slowly I reach out
One step at a time
Short tentative steps
Remembering you pace.

Quietly I reach out
One hand upon the stone
The final resting place
Remembering your embrace.
