Life of Pie

Pie

Pie

Who doesn’t like an occasional slice
That shape that is pleasing to the eye
We all have our favorite type to eat
This tempting little thing we call pie.

Is it better to be baked or chilled
Don’t go off half-baked, not pleasing
And if you are supposed to chill out
Don’t get too hot or close to freezing.

As with people, maybe you should be nuts
For it seems there are those that prefer
To be surrounded by nuts of various taste
I seem to be more of a pecan connoisseur.

Whether cream cheese, nut or even fruit
It seems life is like that slice of pie
Some pretty, sweet, healthy or unsavory
At times you just don’t accept, don’t ask Why.

  1. Dude. Your poem about pie really speaks to me. 🙂 It also makes me kind of want some pie. Can I have some?

    I like it, good analogy!

  3. I love this poem! We LOVE pie here. We started a new tradition about five years ago when we declared Monday night “pie night”. It revolved around the television show “The Closer” as my oldest, his best friend and I are fans of the series. We would take turns choosing the pie flavor and its accompanying ice cream (of course!). AND this weekend while away up north in the mountains, I bought an apple/berry pie from a local cider mill-SO Yummy. In fact, I skipped supper tonight and am going straight for dessert!

I really love this one; like you I love pies with “nuts”But I like pies of all kinds; Have several really good new recipes, quick and simple; but enough of that I love the way you compared pies to life. Hugs always
