Critical

In a mirror, what do you see
Are you all that you want to be
Do you have qualities you desire
Of yourself being critical, do you tire?

We know and magnify our own faults
Others don’t always see the same results
But in order to be pleasing on the outside
We must accept who we are on the inside.

True we mull over all the wrongs we do
Never putting on that figurative other shoe
Seeing ourself as others seem to observe
Not like we’re standing on our last nerve.

Give yourself credit where credit is due
Everyone has good points, even you
The best way to gain someone as friend
Is the image of ourself, we have to mend.

  1. Funny, I was just thinking about this earlier today as I was getting ready for work; which involves looking in the mirror of course!

Very insightful and very true! I am my own worst enemy! I’m currently working on changing the way I see myself. This was perfect for today, thank you!
