The mind can create such turmoil
Bringing our thoughts to a boil
It can make us lick our lips
And make our heart turn flips.
Longing for something isn’t bad
When it’s something already had
Can put us in a different place
No way to hide desire from a face.
Maybe I shouldn’t want it so much
Willing my fingers not to touch
I can almost smell how sweet
No doubt good enough to eat.
The desire is just too strong
Something this good isn’t wrong
I must uncover and just take
Last piece of chocolate cake.

Maybe just a small bite?
Start small and go all the way? Thanks for the comment.
If it is good enough, don’t stop until you are satisfied.
Amen!
you had me going there for a minute. I couldn’t figure out if it was food or a woman!!!
You thought I would express my thoughts of a woman like that???? OK, so just not this time…. 🙂
I guess i had that coming…………lol, I was guessing throughout the poem who you were speaking about. sorry, a woman did cross my mind. maybe I am evil minded?????
That is ok…. I won’t apologize for making your mind wander..
