Who Can Say

hands

Life is given to each of us in some way
For what purpose, it may be hard to say
But no matter what we seek and strive to do
At times we need someone to help us through.

Maybe we feel that no one can understand
The stress we feel if we just try to stand
So we isolate our self and try to be brave
Fighting through life, alone to the grave.

Along comes that special soul to help us
Offering just a hand without any fuss
Who can say if the time is right or a waste
Will you push away or pull close for a taste.

If you want to be an island, swim in the ocean
But if you accept that hand, you must let them in
Maybe it won’t be all that you had hoped it might
Nothing comes easy if you aren’t willing to fight.

    That is so true… Beautiful..

  2. Charles, you write so beautifully, each time I wish someone could yell out my heart, you put it so appropriately in words. Feeling stressed and alone as I embark on a new journey, unsure, insecure, unwell… Been wondering if it is a waste of time, been wondering when that helping hand can come, yet also wondering if accepting that help will mean breaking down the wall I’ve built… “Who can say if the time is right or a waste” … Thank you for writing.
