Changing Seasons

Waking to the cool mornings
Thinking of winter to come
Wanting to crawl back in bed
Pleasant dreams, I need some.

Oh where did summertime go
I always prefer the heat and sun
Fall seems to arrive and yet
I can’t wait for winter to be done.

Always have I preferred summer
Longer days to play outside
These short days make me sad
I need someone to snuggle inside.

Sorry to wish away my the days
But I’ve no desire winter to see
just look, frost on the pumpkin
Oh wait, in the mirror, that’s me.
