Lost and alone, what terrible feelings to have
Life is supposed to be full of joy and peace
When we find we have been abandoned by someone
Where do we look for ways this pain to release.

There care varying levels of this anguish I guess
I isn’t always that we are dropped by the roadside
Maybe the abandonment was simply a lack of care
When someone chose their feelings and hopes to hide.

Nothing like having the feeling of being abandoned
As if in a crowded room and yet you are all alone
There are times when the mind just won’t accept
When another should care, but leave you on your own.

There are times when we put up a wall around our self
This could be thought of as another way to be abandoned
But maybe we are making others feel it because we hide
And we have no one to blame but our self if this is done.

Nothing hurts more than the feeling of abandonment, so i really know how it feels. I have experienced it so many times, and i can still remember each one of them and it hurts like hell. It is not something easy to overcome, not until you find someone new, never to replace the previous one, but just to prove to you that it wasn’t your problem that they left, it wasn’t because you were not enough, but it was just because of their own issues and insecurities and/or lack of love.

  2. Ooooh honey… I have built that wall many times but, fortunatley I was able to also tear it down, slowly and brick by brick but, as long as it’s removed is all that matters.
You have touched on many pains that I too have suffered. Thanks for sharing and giving me something to feel as I read. WOnderful work…again! Happy to have you here.

  3. I can relate to this; especially the last stanza. I’ve always been a loner, and many times, I’ve hid behind those solitary walls. Excellent message in this one!
