Words Change

Interesting how words seem to change
Meanings change over the time
You might use them a little different
But at least you can still make them rhyme.

Take the word hump for example
Growing up this might be a great thing
Something a young man got excited about
Hopefully for more than just a fling.

Now it gives us the highlight
The middle of the week at hand
It lets us know we can start to slide
Toward the weekend, strike up the band.

Think about the words that changed
At least from an old gents time
Queer, crack, blow and hoe
Makes me want to just become a mime.

Words change, meanings change, but people don’t.
