Losing Someone

The loss of a loved one is tragic
I’m sure it’s not what God intended
We go through life not fully knowing
When a life so precious might be ended.

We have some for such a short time
They don’t really get to leave a mark
But still we remember the life they had
And think of all that they spark.

Some were there for us to cherish
Sharing life with so many moments in time
We remember each smile, each lift of brow
And we still live each memory sublime.

Never let go of the moments you shared
Some still bring tears as we stop to ponder
But there is never a reason to let them fade
Each life we shared is filled with wonder.

Losing someone is extremely hard. I always try to look at it in a different way and tell myself I didn’t lose a friend, I had a real one for some time. I try to only focus on the good times shared, but that only hides the pain, nothing can completely erase it.

  2. There is never a reason to let them fade – and you’re right. Sometimes we try so hard to hold on – it resurfaces in a dream, only to break the heart when you wake. But still, no reason to let them fade.
