The Plan

He eased out of bed to not wake her
It was time to do what he planned
He knew the time had to be right
Even if only he would understand.

He went to collect what he’d need
Hidden as they were from sight
One from the old popcorn tin
Things had to go just right.

He had thought this plan over
Not a lot of detail to go wrong
Just the things he would need
He grabbed everything to take along.

He entered the room being so quiet
He placed the pillow next to her head
Her eyes opened with that moment of surprise
He looked and said “Let’s have breakfast in bed”.
