Nights

Night time is for relaxing, not wandering
A time to rest before starting a new day
But when your mind can’t get a better grip
It is time to walk, so no one hears you say.

A slow pace with no path in mind
Just letting the words tickle the brain
No reason to hurry, nothing to see
Stop feeling the worry, no more pain.

Quiet pathways wind in the grass
Sun down so the heat starts to ease
Still sweating with the fight from within
But only myself am I trying to please.

Time will let me make sense of it all
There isn’t any one here to meet
I’ll walk until I’m tired and go home
Probably to finish fighting a sheet.
