Alone In The Dark

A walk down the road to clear the mind
Wisps of clouds trying to hide the star
Just the sound of the nocturnal hunters
Marred infrequently by a passing car.

Those that know me feel the turmoil
Of a mind that seldom takes a rest
At times all I can do is walk it off
As I were undergoing a bit of a test.

As the breeze greets my passing
Deep breaths as I leisurely walk
No longer trying to control my mind
Not caring as out loud to myself I talk.

Alone in the dark everything is alive
All I can do is try to make some sense
Because when I turn around and head back
It will be time to again raise the mental fence.
