Free Write Friday entry – Passing Moments

It is Friday again, so I’ll try to contribute and work my mind… I’ll try to use the 9 words given, maybe a short story this time.

There was a symmetry to her face, the way the sunlight shone off her alabaster skin. Eyes the color of jade above cheekbones that had the sheen of apples. While I knew the immense weight that fell upon her shoulders, the shadow that was falling across her soul, the vase she held had no intrinsic value yet it gave her a regal look, almost aloof.

Nah.. stories are not my forte, so I’ll go with the word bending…

Passing Moments

She never meant to appear aloof
Standing in the shadow as a statue
Her eyes brilliant as stones of jade
Yet so fragile she was, he knew.

The symmetry of her form was mesmerizing
Almost pale because of the skin so alabaster
He could feel the immense weight she carried
Because of the big heart that beat within her.

While her value seemed to appear so intrinsic
Like that of a precious ring made of find gold
She captured the attention of others so easily
It made them desire her, some quietly, some bold.

Oh but for the cheeks shining like apples
You’d not realize that she heard them calling
He tried to treat is as another passing moment
But in truth he knew that for her he was falling.
