The gentle breeze felt good for the moment
Easing the tingling that rose up from the sun
Knowing that the skin was going to be tender
But not caring because right now they were one.
Slight movements and yet each nerve was alive
Each felt the coolness of the sunscreen they spread
There was that moment of suspense as the touch lingered
It wasn’t just the sun that made each of them turn red.
It could have been the moment or the longing they felt
Neither wanted to let go of the shared feelings shared
Maybe they only thought they had known each other for years
There could have been little signs before that they cared.
But it took the warmth of the sun to give them this chance
Though others were around, this moment they wanted to save
Call it chance or fate or maybe even it was meant to have been
But after the blush, they just blamed it on the heat wave.
(And just a momentary thought, one that might have been….. sigh)
