Changes

Changes don’t always come easily
Whether we realize it at the time
Sometimes we’re just too stubborn
We treat advice as if it were a crime.

At times we can look back and realize
Just what made us act that way
Once in a while we just have to accept
That there is nothing left to say.

Dreams are for the dreamers
For me they seem out of range
Something no longer to be seen
Because I was too stubborn to change

So I pack up my things and move away
Otherwise I might be further tempted
To keep looking back with hope
For a change that has been rejected.

  1. Beautifully written; I am thinking too – it might just be better if I “pack and move” on, before I start looking back again at those changes that might have been.

  2. Phyllis Sears says:

As we grow older change is harder to accept; but if you pack up and leave how do you forget – especially those left behind that still care regardless. There are always going to be dreams and there are going to be regrets but if you give up on special friendships what is there left???????????
