Body Parts

Oh how wonderfully made we are in our bodies
All the pieces that seem to work together as one
Even with the years passing by so quickly
The body can still function and let us have fun.

The eyes can bring in such pleasure to see
The ears let sound and music fill our heart
The nose can remind us of so many things
Good food, a precious friend, even a fart.

But don’t let us forget that was must be in control
Of the parts that can cause hurt and even pain
The parts of our body that we must constantly watch
Before they cause us to slip and hurt someone again.

The lips can bring smiles when they are kept in check
But they can’t always keep the tongue from telling a tale
The hands can let us feel so much when with another
But they can also type things that make us turn pale.

While the collection of senses and nerves that we have
Give us the greatest pleasures as we enjoy our life
Don’t let the tongue, the mouth, the fingers and haste
Get ahead of the brain and bring something special to strife.

This is simply but beautifully well written with so much to give to each of us. You never lose sight of your great talent for poetry about so many different yet alike in so many ways
