Gentle Hands

With such a delicate touch he holds her
Knowing the pain she has been carrying alone
Too proud to share what she has to bear
She fought to hide it while her smile shone.

But he knew her too well to let it go
Patiently talking and keeping her at ease
He explains what will happen in the days ahead
And they look out the window at the clouds and trees.

So many thoughts they share of days gone by
Not voicing the concerns for how many more there are
The gentle touch as they sit silently pondering the future
Enough will be the journey to come, no matter how far.

Frail as she is becoming there is an inner strength
Firm is the grip as he helps her with his gentle hands
Neither wants to look too far down the road they travel
But each sees the place beside which in the future he stands.

Beautifully written and very heartwrenching;; I understand what you are going through for what that is worth. I wish I could do more than just let you know I care and that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Wish we lived close enough that I could relieve ya’ll for a time. It is hard and I know firsthand how very hard and it doesn’t make that any easier. It’s good you do have time to spend and share and I know you will never regret one moment.. She won’t either. Take care of yourself and thank you for sharing with us. HUGS my friend

I could live the situation with your words and hope someone will come and will know me too well to let go….
    Sharing, it’s beautiful
