Feel The Rain

Hours spent sitting in a chair
sleepless
Distant noises out of caring thought
thunder
A flash that jolts the senses
lightning
Wondering what path you sought
lost.

A mind full of so many emotions
torn
How to make sense of the past
confused
Wetness moving across my cheek
tears
There comes the relief at last
rain.

Sitting quietly lost in the fog
drenched
What is the reason to stay and try
restless
Many times I’ve heard it takes two to tango
partners
But it only takes one to cry out Why
heartache.

The rain masks the coming of the sun
sunrise
Time to get up and act like I care
pretend
Nothing seems to make sense any more
aimless
Anyway, time to get out of this chair
