Spring In Your Step

Oh the pleasure of waking to a beautiful day
Listening to the birds singing from an open window
Feeling the fresh air of the morning calling out
Almost like viewing life without that overhead shadow.

We get so caught up in the cares of day-to-day
That we forget the beauty around us at times
What if we didn’t have the colors, sounds or textures
Do we take for granted these things, sometimes.

If everything we could see was black and white
What joy we would miss in watching the hummingbirds
We’ve been given so much to make our lives so alive
Every once in a while I sit back at a loss for words.

So as the weather moves from Winter to the Spring
Take that as a time to recharge our view of things
Put that spring back in your step and lift upright
Don’t ever forget to listen as the world around sings.
