Can You Relate?

Wondering if others can relate to a thought
So I’ll pen it and see how it might feel
Maybe there isn’t anyone else that it will touch
But I believe I’ve seen others who know it is real.

We used to start each day not able to be alone
How smiles and laughter, the teasing and the joy
Made each moment we spent together feel so special
Like a young child picking up his new favorite toy.

There used to be notes at all hours to see how we felt
We couldn’t wait to start each day together making love
Then over time something faded away and we changed
Almost as if to touch we needed to put on a glove.

Those feelings never died but how to get them back in place
Is it too late to rekindle the things that we shared
If nothing else how can you let another feel the need
When you aren’t even sure they realize how much you cared.
