Don’t Think

Don’t think of what might have been
It will just remind you of pain
Of the things you could have done
Just go for a walk in the rain.

Don’t think of what could have come
There are always choices to be made
The one you might have held so close
Just go find a tree and sit in the shade.

Don’t think of the path not taken
You will get lost in the scent of her
Don’t think of the walks hand in hand
Just go pour a drink over ice and stir.

Don’t think of her with another man
The images will make you feel the loss
Be happy that she found that happiness
Just go try to sleep even if you just toss.

this would have been so much better (in my opinion!) without the rhyming. It’s a great image, though.
