When Someone Needs You

When someone you care for is dying
How do you handle feeling so stressed
Wanting to be strong for all involved
And not worry about doing without rest.

You can do it for a little while
But don’t let your strength fade
When you give so much without relief
Your own feelings get lost in the trade.

There will always be someone to help you
It is important to remember your friend
Some close, some distant, some between
Just keep them close beginning to end.

I am thankful for the friends I’ve found
They help at times more than they know
So if ever I get the chance to return
I make sure it’s with love that I show.
