Quiet Time

Quiet time can mean different things
A little bit of time your breath to catch
Maybe a moment to stop the race
Or just time for thoughts to match.

For a mother maybe it is kids down for a nap
Giving you time to prepare a meal
Catch up on laundry, your favorite chore
Sometimes just a moment another’s love to feel.

For a father maybe it is time to reflect
Could there be more to show I care
Do I take for granted the one that I love
Maybe I should take the kids from her hair.

For me the quiet has mixed blessings to share
I can think of all the things I did wrong
Maybe ponder the mistakes that I’ve made
Take a moment to put them in rhyme or song.
