How Many Times

How many times have you said “I wish”
And wondered what the response would be
If you felt the results of that wish
You might get more than you see.

You never know what is in someone’s mind
You might not know all their dreams
There might be more they desire
Than you are prepared for it seems.

So don’t ask the questions or have the thoughts
If you aren’t prepared for the answer
They may take you by surprise
Might even have you moving like a dancer.

There are times I have to hold my tongue
I want more than I can ask for
To try to hint or even ask
Would cause you to slam the door.

Great poem as always; one we all can relate to I think
