Mornings Start

I wake with the same morning glow in the room
As the sun peeks over the horizon to start the day
Light filters through the tress a sparkling dance
And I find that I am left with nothing to say.

Starting the coffee brings a scent to the room
Sitting back to watch the birds fight for bare ground
A light snow has covered to reflect the early rays
Just as I have gotten lost in the thoughts floating around.

So many things that could cause my mind to stray
Feelings, memories and dreams that burst into view
Of family and friends, even of one fading away
Leave me sitting still pondering my life all anew.

We make so many choices in the span of a day
To have them flood through the mind so early is wrong
There is always enough time for the sorrow and pain
Grab the cup, take a sip, sit back and try to be strong.
